Encaustic Tiles

Designed by Palace architect A.W.N. Pugin and originally cast by Minton's of Stoke-on-Trent, the encaustic floor tiles that can be found throughout the Palace of Westminster have borne witness to some of the most important moments in the history of the United Kingdom – and have been walked upon by some of its most renowned politicians.

Removed as part of a nine-year conservation and restoration project, a selection of these tiles are now available to purchase in our shops and online.
