Westminster Hall Angels
Created by Devon-based woodcarver William Barsley, who in 2018 helped restore the hammerbeam roof of Westminster Hall, this collection of hand-carved sculptures and casts celebrates the medieval oak angels that form part of the roof structure in one of the Palace of Westminster's oldest buildings.
The angels have borne witness to some of the most significant moments in British history, from the trial of Charles I to the lying in state of Winston Churchill and Queen Elizabeth II.
Each piece in the collection is a unique work of art that tells the fascinating history of the Hall, and of William's special part in its six-hundred-year history.
