Embroidered Portcullis Decoration
Exclusively designed for the House of Commons, this crowned Portcullis decoration has been hand embroidered using using traditional zari (wire) embroidery threads. The crown is emblazoned with clear crystals which add to its opulent finish. The reverse of the decoration is plain.
Symbolising strength and security, the portcullis is the official symbol of the House of Commons and UK Parliament, and can be seen in many places around the Palace of Westminster. The addition of the crown makes it a royal symbol, which the monarch grants Parliament a license to use.
