Part of our new "Votes for Women" range designed by Kent-based artist Esther Johnson, this thick cotton apron with contrasting purple neck and waist ties tells the story of the UK suffrage movement through a series of evocative illustrations, mottos and slogans.

Aprons, including makeshift ones formed from posters and placards, were often worn by women of the suffrage movement as a canvas for political messages and to advertise the date and location of marches and demonstrations.
