Quinta das Carvalhas is one of the oldest Quintas in the Douro. Enjoying prominent position on the left bank of the Douro River in Pinhao, the estate covers the entire hillside facing the Douro River and occupies part of the slopes to the right of the tributary Torto River.

Quinta da Carvalhas LBV is made from the selected grapes of old vines planted almost one century ago at the Quinta. The grapes are hand-picked and the fermentation takes place in stone lagaves. Ageing occurs in oak vats for 4 to 6 years.

This LBV offers a balanced bouquet of mature black cherries, nuances of citrus combined with dark chocolate and hints of wood. It's full bodied, fruity, rich and firm, with a great length of flavour as a result of the prolonged stay in wood.
