Special Edition Palace of Westminster Encaustic Tile
Description
This encaustic tile is one of a very limited number of special edition tiles that have been preserved from the Palace of Westminster Encaustic Tile Conservation Project.
Laid between 1847 to 1852 by Minton of Stoke-on-Trent, Palace of Westminster encaustic tiles are among the most iconic of A.W.N. Pugin's interior designs. The tiles incorporate a range of symbolic imagery associated with the four nations of the United Kingdom, as well heraldic devices of the Royal Family.
This special edition tile comes presented in a gift box and a certificate of authenticity that gives detailed information about the project.
